Matt’s Weekly Shop Update – Oct 27, 2017

Took a break from the norm this week and made a quick holder for my track saw tracks. On the highboy, I started on the goosenecks by getting the templates done and the stock prepped. I also got my first wooden handplane!

I unfortunately did not take any pictures before giving it to them, so I only have the few we could talk her grandparents through taking and sending.  It is curly maple sandwiched by wenge.

Keepsake box by Jonathan

I recently made a keepsake box out of curly maple, and walnut featuring hand-cut dovetails. This is my second attempt at dovetails and I am only 14 years old. My first attempt didn’t go too well (let’s just leave it at that). I finished it with two coats of watco Danish oil and man it really made the figure pop in that maple! The dimensions are 13 1/4 ” X 10 1/4 ” X 5 ”

Cedar Canoe by Aaron

I’m 22 and studying to be a woodwork teacher!   The canoe is made entirely from scrap cedar I collected while working at a timber mill and milled to size all by myself!
