Plain Sawn Bench Top Pair (PS2 and PS3)

Slabs are 96″ long and have been surfaced on the top and bottom.  Edges are still rough and are current 11.5″ wide.  These should finish at the standard 11″ width. Current thickness is 5.25″.

This pair of bench tops are plainsawn which causes them to show more grain patterns than the quartersawn benchtops.  From a stability standpoint, these are just as stable as the QS tops; they don’t tend to warp or distort.

Show Face – One open knot and one closed knot.  Slight spalting to one end

Reverse Face – Some wane; long shallow split

Slab PS3

Show Face – One open knot. Slight spalting to one end

Reverse Face – shallow split halfway down the length.
