Sculpted Ladle

I had a chunk of curly maple that I had trimmed off of a bowl blank.  The way it was shaped looked perfect for a ladle.  I used the bandsaw, a bur in a die grinder, the spindle sander, and hand sanding to shape the profile.

Might want to use the spoke shave ,hook knife and gouges.Would cut down on the dust and speed the process,…Did you ever turn the round carvers mallet I suggested for carving.???..Would releave the stress on the hands and arms and less chance of slips when carving your fans and shells! check out Follensbee for design refinement.
