I made this toboggan a couple years ago for my grandkids.  One nice thing is that my son helped me with it, so he and his boys can enjoy it as the work of his own hands.

Steam Bent Chair by Robin

It’s a steam bent, laminated chair, and it’s the first time I’ve tried both steaming wood and chair making. It’s made from Tasmanian Oak and Merbau (‘mer-bow’) and it took around 6 weeks to make. Having used bent wood I’m totally hooked, and see myself using it in a lot of future project, haha.

  1. I’m a damn near old man(74) but I watch 99% of your vids. In another life I may have acquired your skill’s, You are envied by myself and I am sure others. I am a Nurse by profession, Marine 64-68 and yes I did, RN since 72 than Army Reserves, Military service almost 23 years. Desert Storm as well. Still active around the house and my wood skills now are picture frames. From a 1950’s vintage table saw to todays 10 inch (which I just bought this year), frames are still my main thing. Kinda got carried away, sorry. I see a move coming in your life, maybe something like April Wilkerson’s big shop. You’ll feel it when it’s time! Don’t stop the vids though, keep um coming. Live long and prosper. (What is Lindsay’s next project, cause I’m lookin forward to it.)
