My friend Brandon brought me a couple of silver maple logs that have some spalting starting to form. Those will get milled up sometime during the frigid winter. In the shop, I got the goosenecks attached to the case and have moved on to the side returns.

I am an artist these days, but I have some experience with power tool woodworking, metal working, mechanic-ing etc, etc. but not much hand tools!
I don’t have much of a shop anymore, just a few tools on an old desk in the corner of a very crowded garage.
I’ve wanted for a long time to make some things out of old pallets but never got around to finding any. I’ve also been inspired by you and other you tubers to make some hand cut dove tails!
So just a couple weeks ago my neighbor was throwing out a couple pallets. so I had to grab them.
I have probably the worst tools available, they were not very helpful. Just a cheap saw, walmart chisels and a hammer.
The wood is also not in great shape. Its bowed and has some cracks.
But I didn’t want anything to stop me. I had been wishing to get in to this for too long so I just did it. I didn’t expect much. and I didn’t care. I eyeballed all the angles. I did run into a couple problems – because of the bow and dull chisel the wood split (on 2 parts) and I had to glue them back together. I also wasn’t paying attention and cut out the pin instead of the waste on my first board!
But in the end I pretty much got what I expected, and really this is what I wanted. A very rustic recycled wood planter. I don’t think I’ll be doing any more dovetails out of this wood but I might make more boxes like this for my porch. I really want to do more dovetails tho when I get some better tools!

My name is Hampus, a 14 year old woodworker from Sweden and during the summer holidays i made a workbench that is 70 cm wide and 200 cm long. it has oak legs and oak long rails and birch
for the short rails and has a birch plywood top and bottom for the table tob and has 9 4.5x95mm furr planks glued together and larch sides to cover the furr in the middle. it is still missing a leg vise. To go with the bench i made a jack plane,spoke shave,bench hook,awl, a knife from old makita planer blade, smoothing plane and 2 bench dogs and all of this was made in the summer.
Upholstered Chair by Moritz
My name is Moritz, I’m from Germany and I am 18 years old. I am starting to study as a wood engineer next year and I have to do some apprentice work prior to the start of the study.
This chair is part of this work and it’s the first time for me working on a upholstery project. I’ve done some wood projects before but this was completely new to me and I think it turned out okay.
Machinist Tool Chest by Bob
I decided to challenge myself and make an attempt to build a machinist tool chest. 2 ½ years and about 800 hours of labor, this is what I designed with my own plans and built. It’s 13” deep, 19” tall, and 23” wide, with a large open compartment on top and 10 drawers. Made of red oak, Minwax Early American stain and 2 coats of polyurethane.
