Matt’s Weekly Shop Update – Feb 9 2015

This week in the shop I worked on the drawers for the upper case.  I got all the drawer fronts cut to size and dovetailed one of the drawers.  More excitingly, I started working on the goose neck molding.  I need to make a template for the molding stock so I used a template of the scroll board to make a template with the necessary offset.  Next I could mill up my stock, route it with the template, and begin routing the profile.  After 2 hours of routing I was able to complete most of the profile but I still have more routing to do to finish up the detailed portions of the molding.  After the molding is routed, I will clean it up and blend it with a goose neck scraper.
