A new viewer projects segment featuring a wedding arch from Keith and a bookmatched and live edge walnut corner shelf from Joe. Work continues on the sofa table. This week I finished making the panels for the subtop and shelves and worked on selecting and rough prepping the leg stock. I also started on the trim for our family room. I pulled, planed, and rough sized the boards that I will be using to create the base boards. I selected my longest cherry boards (10′) to minimize the number of seams in the final install.

Hi Matt,
I really love watching all your videos and totally get why Marc choose you to be his first outside instructor for the guild. I bought the class as soon as I found out you would be teaching it.
I have a small lumber mill and have milled a few logs but, living in the high desert of southern California makes it a little more difficult to find downed trees and I haven’t found a great hardwood supplier in my area so, I was wondering if you, or Bell Forest would be offering “kits” for the sofa table project. I’m sure you’re a little too busy with the build, floor trim, not too mention watching your son, to mill a bunch of kits but, it would be great if folks in my position could purchase the rough kits.
Thanks, and keep up the good work,
Terry
Thank you Terry! I appreciate that!
I believe that Bell Forest will be providing a kit for the build. I’d love to offer a kit as well but won’t be able to offer a kit in walnut for a while (I’m totally out) but I could provide a kit in cherry. I’ll see how things progress. I really enjoy the lumber selection process so putting together kits would allow me to build multiple tables without actually building them in a sense.
Thanks again Terry,
Matt
