Pull Out Kitchen Drawers by John

I just finished up making some pull out drawers for our kitchen. I used some 9/4 hard maple that a friend of mine milled from his yard using a chainsaw mill. I resawed it to make 3/4″ boards. I finished the drawers with General Finished Satin and mounted using Promark soft close sliders.

Toy Chest by Andy

I wanted to make something for my son before he got here.  I put together this black walnut and white oak toy chest.  It only took me about 120 hours.  The lid is made from home milled lumber, but the case itself is made from someones milling offcuts I purchased off Craigslist.  I wish I had made the entire thing from lumber we milled ourselves (I had it all just laying there), but I really lacked the confidence when I started that it would turn out well, so I was afraid to waste the good stuff.  I guess there is a lesson in that too.  All the panels on this piece have the grain running in the same direction, so theoretically it should all expand and contract uniformly.  So it is kind of an experiment, I am curious to see if the trees de-laminate over the years.  I wrote a build article on Imgur that got some attention if you’re curious: https://imgur.com/t/amitywoodworks/07Zm9oY and I share an Instagram account where my cousin and I post our projects: https://www.instagram.com/amity_woodworks/
